The Trader

Potion quick-buy, eight rotating gear offers plus two Featured rares, the 4-hour refresh, and tier cap.

The Trader panel

The Trader panel has two sections: Potions (always in stock) and Gear — a rotating set of eight gear offers plus two Featured rares.

  • Potions buy instantly via the +1 / +10 / +50 / Max (N) buttons — Max shows how many your gold affords, and asks for confirmation before spending (at high level it can move a fortune in one click). Each card shows how many you currently own.
  • Gear pool refreshes every 4 hours of real time (less with the exploration skill Trader’s Pact), or immediately for gold via Reroll.
  • Regular gear caps at Tier 4; only Featured offers can reach Tier 5.
  • Selling happens from the inventory: tap an item on the Trader tab to sell it. Unwanted drops are handled by the Loot Filter.
  • Sell Loot — three buttons under the gear grid clear a whole rarity at once (Normal / Magic / Rare), each showing its own item count and payout before you click. Locked items and anything an artisan is working on are never sold, and uniques never match. Every bulk sale asks for confirmation.

Prices & offers

  • Buy price = itemValue × 2, where itemValue = sellBase × tier × rarity (see Currencies & Crafting Costs). The vendor buys the same item back for itemValue — exactly half what you paid.
  • Potion sell-back — potions are bought back at half the trader’s current list price (POTION_SELL_PRICE_FRACTION = 0.5), i.e. the price after the bedroom cost reduction, so buying and reselling always loses the same share.
  • Offer quality — regular offers are always Magic with 2 affixes.
  • Featured offers — two per cycle, always Rare with 4 affixes (one more than a regular rare drop), each affix guaranteed to roll in the top 40% of its range. They cost the regular price formula and prefer the highest gear tier you’ve unlocked.
  • Item level — each offer rolls at clamp(playerLevel − 2 ± 1, 1, 100), so roughly one to three levels below you.
  • Refresh — the gear offers regenerate on a deterministic 4-hour real-time seed (shortened by the Trader’s Pact exploration skill); the same seed always yields the same stock, so the shop doesn’t reroll on reload.
  • Tier cap — regular gear is capped at min(regions unlocked, 4). Once you have cleared Tier 5, each Featured slot independently has a 10% chance to draw from the Tier-5 pool — the only way Tier-5 bases enter the shop.

Rerolling the stock

Restock the gear offers on demand instead of waiting out the cycle.

  • Cost = (5000 + 400 × your level) × 1.5ⁿ, where n is the number of rerolls already taken this cycle — so at level 90 the first costs 41,000 gold, the second 61,500, the third 92,250.
  • The escalation resets on every natural 4-hour refresh.
  • A reroll replaces the entire gear stock (potions are always in stock). The previous offers are gone for good, including any you hadn’t bought yet.
  • Sold-out slots come back filled — a rerolled stock never starts with gaps.
  • The fee stays gold even on Tier-5 stocks (unlike crafting, which switches to Echoing Crystals at Tier 5): this is the endgame’s main gold sink, and the repeatable way to fish for a Tier-5 Featured rare.
