v0.13.1 — Theron's echo

Theron fights in two phases

  • Theron and Echoed Theron now fight in two phases. Until half his HP he fights as himself, with new artwork: physical damage plus one element, as before.
  • At half his HP his echo tears free. A flash, a camera shake and a new sprite mark the switch. From then on every hit adds fire, cold, lightning and poison on top of the physical damage, and each element can put its status on you. Bring all your resistances.
  • His HP bar refills for the second phase, and two life orbs next to his name show the phases left. His total HP is unchanged. In the second phase the enemy panel shows one damage row per element, and Auto-Potion counts all four elements when it guards against one-shots.
  • The victory text of the Throne of Endless Night was rewritten to match.
  • Combat log: elemental hits now name their element for every enemy (e.g. “hits you: 30 cold”).

Bestiary

  • Old Spirestone replaces Theron’s Echo as the Dark Citadel’s rare mark: a huge lightning-scarred gargoyle on the Nightspire, with the same strength as before.
  • Kills of Theron’s Echo don’t carry over. If your bestiary was complete, you need one Old Spirestone kill to complete it again. Until then, the Echidna signs and the Dark Citadel’s shorter scout wait for it.

Art

  • Many regular enemies and hunt marks were redrawn: no more cropped heads, no pale smoke around them, and they fill their frame better.

Uniques

  • New unique: Serpent Spine (Ironstaff, level 30, can drop from any enemy level): +20% attack speed, +20–40% poison damage, +1–3 to Plaguebearer and +100–120% enhanced damage.
